In the May 22, 2017 issue of the Treatment Plant Operator (TPO) Magazine, there is an article on the items found in wastewater that is produced in our homes.  The article titled “Microplastics in WWTPs: Why Consumers Need to Start Caring”     not only discusses the small items that enter Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP) such as microfibers and micoplastics, but how these items are also entering septic systems.  In either case, the small particles can be a source of problems overtime.  Septic systems and WWTPs are one of those things we typically don’t think about, but fixing issues after they occur can be costly.  This article provides a little insight.
