U.S. Drought Monitor for November 29, 2016:
For the contiguous 48 states, the U.S. Drought Monitor showed 31.46 percent of the area in moderate drought or worse, compared with 31.14 percent a week earlier.
Drought now affects 148,484,893 people, compared with 148,801,899 a week earlier.
For all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico, the U.S. Drought Monitor showed 26.29 percent of the area in moderate drought or worse, compared with 26.02 percent a week earlier.
Drought now affects 148,616,428 people, compared with 148,819,767 a week earlier.
