1. Temperatures will be getting colder as we move into next week with Thursday being the coldest. Below is a good chart showing critical temperatures for strawberry blooms and green fruit.

Pretty much from the fall line north we should be considering how we are going to protect our investment. The first strategy would be to remove any ripe berries ahead of cold weather.

Many growers with row covers will cover for several days. It would be good to scout for and spray spider mites ahead of covering.

In more northern counties row covers and irrigation may be necessary.  For more detailed info contact your county agent. They will be able to get in touch with the proper specialists.
