Camden County to offer Master Naturalist Course

Registration for Camden County Extension’s Master Naturalist Course is now open. This series of weekly programs originally developed in 2004 uses hands-on environmental education to explore habitats, ecosystems and human impact. This course will cover a wide variety of topics and activities to include beach ecology and seining on Jekyll, birding at Crooked River State Park and the Rookery on the Old Gilman Property, a morning tour of Marine Extension and an afternoon trawl, and a lesson forestry and wildlife on a private pine plantation.

 

The course will be take place on 9 Fridays from February 24th, 2017 until May 12th, 2017 and last from 9 am until 3 pm.  The course will not meet in one specific place but participants will receive a calendar of class meeting places after registration. Participants must provide their own lunch and transportation to class location.

 

The cost to attend this course is $175 and is payable by cash or check to the Camden County Extension Office (1409 Georgia Ave Woodbine), the registration fee covers 54 hours of instruction, reference materials and handouts and upon graduation a certificate and graduation dinner.

 

Please come in to the Extension Office to register. Course size is limited to twenty.
