Island Apple Snail Volunteer Removal Day

Island Apple Snails are an invasive species that destroys native vegetation and displaces native species.  Camden County Extension in partnership with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Camden County PSA, and the Coastal Georgia Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area is hosting a volunteer day to remove Island Apple Snails and their eggs from local waterbodies.  The cleanup will be Saturday June 11th 9am-12pm.  Volunteers should meet at the pond behind the St. Marys Aquatic Center at 301 Herb Bauer Drive.  Volunteers will receive a pass valid at the St. Marys or Recreation Center pool!  For more information please call the Camden County Extension Office at 912-576-3219.
