Yes I know…..All of you are saying we know that Avian Flu is present in wild birds. You are absolutely right! Avian Flu is common in wild birds and does not cause them much harm. So why do we care? Because wild birds just like this are around and hang out with other wild birds that can and do fly over your chicken houses. Wild birds also hang out in wet spots around the county. Just wanted to remind you guys that no matter the season you need to be mindful of biosecurity. The Chatham County bird that tested positive was a Ruddy Turnstone which is a shore bird.
