Landscape Update, April 1st, in Griffin

This landscape update is designed for the commercial landscaper or ground maintenance personnel and will cover a number of landscape management issues. Topics will include site analysis, planting and fertilizing as well as how to select the best trees and ornamentals. We will also have a section on how to manage turf as well as how to troubleshoot problems in the landscape. CEU and pesticide license credits have been applied for. Dr. Bodie Pennisi and Bob Westerfield, Extension University of Georgia Horticulturists will be coordinating the program.

2016 Piedmont Cattlemen’s Association May Field Day

The 2016 Piedmont Cattlemen’s Association May Field Day will be held at Little Spring Farm (87 Moores Farm Rd., Covington, GA 30016) on Saturday, May 14. Sessions to include feeder calf grading and ultrasound back fat testing, as well as a farm tour and lots of vendors. Please register with the Newton County Extension Office (770-784-1020), by May 11. Cost to attend is $10, and includes lunch.
