This week is the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) AM/PIC in Mobile, Al. The week has been filled with many professional improvement opportunities for agents, spouses, children and retirees. The Alabama Association of  Agricultural Agents and Specialists have done an excellent job making this a world class event! The them for this year’s conference is “Discover our Southern Charm,” which is exactly what the Alabama Agents have been setting out to do. Hopefully, this blog will provide all of our members an update on some on some of the happenings and highlights of the week. Special thanks to Jill Clayton, Jenkins County Resource Manager and Emily Pitts/Michael Greenland of the Extension Web Team for the creation of this blog.

Randy Owen, an Alabama native entertained us all during the opening ceremony. He sang songs such as “Song of the South,” “If Your Gonna Play in Texas,” “Mountain Music,” and much more.

Randy made some heart warming remarks about a tough upbringing he endured in rural Alabama and some of his experiences of growing up on a farm.

The Alabama Agents welcomed us in many ways as you walk to the convention center via a bridge going over the main traffic arteries of Mobile.
