Dr. Bob Kemerait sent out the following information:
On Monday, UGA’s diagnostic lab in Tifton confirmed southern corn rust on a sample submitted by Mark Freeman in Pulaski County. This completes the “triangle” of Seminole, Pierce and Pulaski Counties. Southern corn rust could threaten corn production anywhere on the Coastal Plain of Georgia. Corn is likely “safe” when it reaches a the “dough” stage.
