JUNE 8, 2015

The tour will begin with a Kick-Off Supper at a new location near Waycross, Georgia. Supper will be served at 7:00 p.m.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Quality Inn and Suites (formerly Holiday Inn) in Waycross, Ga. (PH: +1-912-283-4490). Identify yourself as part of the “Tobacco Tour” for special rates. Other hotels are available in the area.

JUNE 9, 2015

Tuesday morning, the tour will visit several Georgia tobacco farms, on-farm demonstrations (varieties, TSWV, insect control demonstrations) and producers.

Lunch will be in Georgia. After noon, we will visit several additional on-farm demonstration sites (TSWV, insect control demonstrations) in Georgia and end in Tifton, Ga., for the evening.

Tuesday evening, the Georgia Tobacco Tour headquarters will be the Hampton Inn in Tifton, Ga. (PH: +12293828800) located off Exit 62 on I-75 and GA Hwy 82. Identify yourself as part of the “Tobacco Tour” for special rates. Complimentary breakfast is included with the room. Other hotels are available in the area. Directions for supper will be available at check-in.

JUNE 10, 2015

Wednesday morning, the tour will visit the Bowen Farm of the Coastal Plain Experiment Station on the University of Georgia Tifton Campus. We will have lunch at the Tifton Campus Conference Center in Tifton, Ga.

After lunch, we will visit additional on-farm demonstrations (Released Variety Demonstration) and Florida tobacco producers and a Released Varieties Demonstration in Suwannee County, Florida. The tour will end near Live Oak, Florida. No meal is planned and no hotel has been designated.

Additional details of the schedule and driving directions will be added the week before the tour. We look forward to having you join us for the tour.
