I recently attended the first annual International Agribusiness Conference and Exposition in Savannah, Ga. The conference was put on by the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and Georgia Southern University’s Department of Continuing Education. It was a great conference and a lot of information was provided. The seminars were focused on the US position in the global market with regards to agricultural exports, how Georgia is in a unique position to capitalize on global trade via the port of Savannah, and what resources are available for those interested in entering international trade.

Although the thought of international trade may evoke a sense of confusion and frustration, it can really be a great way to grow your business. The state of Georgia is investing an enormous amount of money to build the necessary infrastructure to allow businesses to capitalize on the growing amount of export business leaving the port of Savannah. If you are interested in learning more about how to get started in international trade and what resources are available to you, please feel free to call me.
