The latest Drought Monitor, released early today because of Thanksgiving, shows that the amount of moderate drought in the Southeast has more than doubled in areal coverage since last week.  Not surprising considering that most areas have seen little to no rain. Drought is  now present in every state in the Southeast.  Since most areas of the Southeast (with the exception of central Florida) will see little to no rain this week, things are not likely to improve for next week’s Drought Monitor.
