Overnight Nate strengthened from a tropical storm to a hurricane, and this strengthening is likely to continue for the next few hours before it makes landfall overnight tonight. Then it is expected to accelerate to the northeast and should be to New England by Monday night.  The precipitation pattern for the US this week is dominated by this storm, which could drop several inches along and to the right of the path of the circulation.  After that things should be relatively quiet for the rest of the week with only light amounts of rain expected across the Southeast.
