The latest Drought Monitor released this morning shows the development of an area of abnormally dry conditions across parts of Georgia and an expansion of conditions in Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia. Drought conditions in North Carolina remained status quo and no drought or dry conditions are currently seen in Florida. The Climate Prediction Center also released their seasonal drought outlook today and it indicated that drought development is likely in South Carolina, west central Alabama and east central Georgia by the end of January 2018.
