If you’ve been following the news you may have heard about a draft report produced as part of the National Climate Assessment, which is required by the federal government ( I believe it started during the presidency of President George H. W. Bush) to update its findings on climate in the US every four years. The latest report was “leaked” by the New York Times but actually has been available online in the past few months as part of their public comment period, although it did not get much attention when it was out. I have not read it yet myself, but I know a number of the authors and consider them to be good and careful scientists. If you’re interested, I encourage you to take a look at it for yourself. The text of the report is available at https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/08/07/climate/document-Draft-of-the-Climate-Science-Special-Report.html.
