The latest monthly climate outlook from the Climate Prediction Center indicates that most of the Southeast has equal chances of near, above or below normal temperatures for the next 30 days.  The next few days should show significant cooling as a strong cold front moves through the region on Thursday May 4, bringing significantly cooler temperatures to the area over the weekend, although warm temperatures are expected to rebound after that.  Precipitation is expected to be heavier than usual, which may bring some relief to drier areas, although equal chances are predicted for most of Florida, where drought has been expanding.  Their outlook for drought indicates drought removal is likely in northern areas but persistence or expansion of drought in southern Georgia and in the Florida Peninsula.
