WSB-TV produced a story earlier this week noting that this year the first reported poisonous snakebite of the year happened in the first week of January, which was a record according to Dr. Gaylord Lopez of the Georgia Poison Control Center.  He attributed the large number of calls so early in the year to the lack of winter conditions.  So be careful out there! You can watch the story and read about it at https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/snake-bites-in-georgia-up-50-percent-this-year/521275383.
