AL.com has a story this week about the likelihood of Alabama and other areas of the Southeast experiencing a very bad year for ticks.  This is due to the mild winter that the region has experienced this year.  In the article they noted that  “The warm, wet winter and spring have created conditions for dense undergrowth in forests, which allows ticks to thrive.”  In addition, the range of some ticks has expanded in recent years due to overall warmer temperatures.  You can read more about it at https://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2017/04/very_bad_tick_year_expected_fo.html.
