For at least the last 150 years, scientists have known that carbon dioxide gas is the primary source of warming in the earth’s atmosphere.  Having some carbon dioxide in the atmosphere allows the temperature range on the surface of the earth to be suitable for life.  But having higher amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere enhances the warming, so that as we add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, the temperature is going to go up, particularly when you factor in other effects like the melting of highly reflective ice at high latitudes.  So if you hear someone say that carbon dioxide is not a primary cause of global warming, then you have to ask yourself, why are they denying well-established scientific fact?  It’s simple physics, folks.
