The latest 90 day climate outlook was released this week. It shows that above-normal temperatures are likely to continue. Precipitation does not lean one way or the other except along the coast, where above-normal rainfall has the edge. This is most likely due to expected tropical activity in this season with neither an El Niño or La Niña present. Longer-term forecasts continue to show the expected impacts of a La Niña over the course of fall and winter, with drier than normal conditions expected across the Southeast through March and above-normal temperatures also somewhat more likely than usual to occur.
