The strong El Nino that is present in the eastern Pacific Ocean has created a lot of buzz lately on its likely impacts.  Here are two articles that describe some of the ways weather and agriculture may be affected in the coming months.

Bob Henson on the Weather Underground blog discusses the impacts of El Nino on temperature, precipitation and severe weather across the country.  In the Southeast, the winter is likely to be cooler and wetter than normal, with an increase in the chances for severe weather in the fall season.  You can read that here.

AgWeb also published an article about what the El Nino means for agriculture in the US at https://www.agweb.com/article/what-an-el-nino-fallwinter-could-look-like-NAA-ben-potter/.
