A stalled front across the Florida peninsula will bring heavy rain to the Sunshine state this week.  As much as eight inches could fall, according to the latest QPF map.  Other areas will receive lesser amounts, mainly on Tuesday and later in the week.

The presence of the front could help lead to the development of a tropical depression later in the week.  On Friday evening, the National Hurricane Center said there was 20 percent chance that a tropical or subtropical cyclone could form in an area from near the Southeast coast to near Bermuda during the next five days.   The Weather Channel has a story about this prospect here.
