Today marks the fourth anniversary of one of the most deadly outbreaks of tornadoes ever to hit the Southeast.  It was part of a superoutbreak of tornadoes and severe weather that lasted from April 25 to 28 across the Southeast in 2011.  Wikipedia has an entry which describes the full extent of the event, including 355 confirmed tornadoes, at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_25%E2%8

NASA_SPoRT tweeted the image below, which is a composite of the supercell thunderstorms which hit Alabama and surrounding areas on April 27.

There are a lot of stories about the storms this week in the news, and I won’t share them all.  But I did want to point out the Capitol Weather Gang blog in the Washington Post which links to a story about one man’s experience in the Tuscaloosa storm (here).

AL.com also has some photos of the devastation caused by the storm at  https://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/04/take_a_look_back_at_photos_fro.html#incart_gallery.
