I love to watch the skies, and tonight we get a treat as the Southeast will observe a partial solar eclipse around sunset on Thursday, October 23.  A solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun.  This time the moon will not completely obscure the sun, so it will just look like a crescent during the eclipse, and it will be too bright to view with the naked eye.  You can see a good video from NASA posted at https://www.athensgaweather.com/athens-ga-weather-thursday-october-23-2014/.  With our good weather, cloud cover should not be much of an issue.
