AgWeb reports that Illinois farmers are seeing what could be their best yields ever on corn this year, in a story here.  The farmers say that the combination of timely rains with a relatively cool summer has led to great production by their corn plants, even though the crops are about a week behind normal.  Other areas of the Midwest are also reported to have excellent yields, although cool and wet conditions have set back harvest in some areas.  Unfortunately for farmers, the high yields of corn this year have depressed crop prices significantly, reducing farmers’ returns.
