Tropical Storm Bertha has formed in the Atlantic Ocean and is headed to the northwest, following a typical path for Atlantic hurricanes. However, because of the trough of low pressure across the eastern part of the country, the storm is expected to veer away from land and recurve to the north and east before it affects us. The most we are likely to see is some higher than usual surf along the Atlantic coast.
