NOAA has just released the latest monthly outlook for May precipitation and temperature for the US.  It shows that for the Southeast, warmer than normal conditions have a slightly increased likelihood in south Florida as well as in northern Georgia and Alabama, while wetter than normal conditions have a slightly increased likelihood of occurring in south Georgia into Florida.  This is not good news for farmers who have been struggling to get into the fields in southern parts of the Southeast due to the continuing wet conditions.   If warmer conditions do occur, evaporation could help to dry up some of the wet soils.
