Special Circumstances

In some special circumstances, youth who live in a neighboring county may be allowed to participate in 4-H in Burke County. In order to do so, they must complete the Change in Membership application process and have their application approved through the State 4-H Office. Prior to submitting a Change in Membership form, the young person and parent should meet with the 4-H staff person in their home county and the county they are moving to with their membership change. The 4-H staff in both counties must be agreeable to the change AND it must be approved by the State 4-H Staff prior to the young person being allowed to compete in any 4-H competition with their “new” county.
