Asian soybean rust has been found on soybean leaves from the soybean rust sentinel plot in Bulloch County.  Currently, growers across the Coastal Plain of Georgia can expect soybean rust to be present.  It has been slow to develop, but is now moving within fields and through the area more quickly.

Any soybeans that have reached full seed/R6 growth stages are “safe”. Younger soybeans are still vulnerable and may need to be protected with a fungicide application.  With the threat of rain from storm Hermine, the disease could begin to spread more rapidly.
