Disease Management in Commercial Greenhouses

WELCOME BACK TO BERRIEN COUNTY’S BLOG!

After taking a long hiatus from writing  I have decided to reactivate this line of communication with you.

Recently there has been an aggressive amount of disease spotted in commercial greenhouses across the state primarily because of the optimal environment related to the abnormally warm winter. Diseases on transplants can be managed if scouted properly with timely applications of fungicides. If there is any concern on diagnoses of a disease in any crop please contact me immediately. Having healthy transplants is detrimental in the success of having a productive growing season in any crop.

Diseases that have been identified so far are:

Gummy stem blight of Watermelon

Rhizoctonia- Tobacco
